In a statement to Pitchfork, a representative for the fest explained that the performance will be “super conceptual” and take the “artist somewhat out of their comfort zone.” The statement also says that it will be Borland’s first performance “of this kind ever,” noting, “Wes was always known to be into sonic experimentation, however in recent years he’s become obsessed with machines making music.”
